From the odd one out

If it was easy
For me
I'd rhyme as I please
We have our walls up
But communication should be free
Cause you know us
Self-righteous people these days
Never without enlightened things to convey
All that ego had to have its say
But mine had to be
Cool, laid back
Meant to be heard over a Dear Fall track
Dear Fall
You were one hell of a lover
Had me all caught up and under
It wasn't until next summer
That I had to wonder
If I missed you when Winter came
He had me realize I was still the same
Still caught up in the past when things had changed
I just kept looking at faces
Searching for traces
Of someone willing to go past a first-name-basis
Cause I will always remember how much I hate
The generalization of a crowd
You spottted me like I was meant to be found
But it was so loud
That I didn't hear the footsteps on the ground
When you turned away
Without knowing if you gave me a second thought
I remember staring across
The parking lot
In my head
Begging you to turn around
And say
Hi
But I didn't wait for long
So I guess we both didn't try

From the underdog comin up

Now a days it's all about the fashion, the glamour,
The fame, the wealth
Never took a business class but here's to marketing ourselves
Askin him, yeah do I look alright?
Do I say the right things for you to come over tonight?
Cause I'm constantly trying for your sought-after approval
Hair done nails done, wardrobe renewal
But in the end I wish the roles were switched,
Change of direction
Grew up a pair of X's
Victim of natural selection
Cause you can stand there with your hand on your crotch
Misdemeanors, slick moves, callin the shots
But see me,
I'm just another set of tits
Full lips
Lipstick
Hit it and quit
But watch out for these stillettos
Cause I'll make sure they settle
Right where it hurts
They say a women's compassion comes first
But sometimes mine doesn't work
Like the words of a woman with something to speak
Unless accompanied by song
Made to be sweet
But man I just wanna tell you
I got it bad for you boy, no lie
But who would listen
If I don't have it harmonize
So instead
I kept these words in my head
The ones that kept me awake in bed
Going over what needs to be said
When you were the only audience I ever really needed
But that would be showing my vulnerable side
And something tells me you never cared to see it.

From the little girl in big girl pants

Hello Mr. Infatuation
My name is your next fling
I signed up last spring
To meet you
But back then I had this thing
Where I thought love really happened
But now I'm done actin
Done romanticizing
That you were more than just a phase
Like you would last past
September days
But rather you are short, without a point
Something like a phrase
Who knew it would be the fairy tales from my
Childhood days
To hurt me
Never thought I'd find out this early
That it's true what they say
You stop givin a fuck once you come of age

Batter up

Wore this to school feelin' like a thug; can never go wrong with some 80's throwback
